Elementary Students Vote in Digital Mock Election

HTSD School News, Technology

Elementary students had the opportunity to make their voices heard today to make 2 important decisions:

  1. Who would make the best President of the United States for the next 4 years?
  2. Do you prefer “Team Jersey Day” or “Hat Day” for the next school spirit day?

293 students from grades Pre-K through 4 voted using iPads in the computer lab.

Students monitored live results throughout the day as each class voted on the iPads

At the end of the day, the results showed 2 clear winners:

  • Mitt Romney defeated incumbent Barack Obama by a count of 166 votes to 127.
  • Hat Day won out over Team Jersey day by a margin of 155 votes to 138.
